Celebrating 30 Years of CSEC Examinations 

Welcome to the official web site of the Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC). This year 2009 marks 30 years since CXC offered its first examinations for the Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) in 1979. Examinations were offered in English, Geography, History, Mathematics and Integrated Science as a pilot.

During the year, CXC will honour the CXC Class of '79 - the people who made the first examination administration happen. These include staff of the Council at the time, markers who marked then and are still marking today, members of the five Subject Panels, members of the five Examining Committees and members of the Final Awards Committee. They will be honoured at two ceremonies to be held, one in Barbados on 10th July and the other in Jamaica on 15th July.

Are you a member of the CSEC Class of '79?

Are you a member of the CSEC Class of '79 who wrote the first CXC CSEC examinations? We want to hear from you and feature you in the Caribbean Examiner Magazine. The two issues of the Magazine this year will carry a section entitled; CSEC Class of '79-Where are they now? Tell us about your experience in 1979 and give us a brief profile of where life has taken you up to this point.

  New CXC PBX Number
