Senior Assistant Registrar – Human Resource

Mrs Currency-Hunte joined the staff of the Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC®) on 9 January 2012 as Human Resource Business Partner Compensation and Benefits and was promoted to the role of Senior Assistant Registrar – Human Resource Division on 1 November 2015. As Head of the Human Resource Division, she has responsibility for developing HR policies and programs for the organisation, originating HR practices and objectives that will provide a balanced program throughout the organisation strategic human resource planning, compensation and benefits management, recruitment, learning and development and Employee and Industrial Relations.

She is an accomplished HR professional with over twenty years’ experience in the various areas spreading across the Human Resource Management field.  Mrs Currency-Hunte is considered to be a highly ethical professional having held the role of Ethics Officer at one of the region’s leading Audit Firms for over eight years.  In addition to serving as Treasurer and then Vice President on the management committee of the Human Resource Management Association of Barbados Inc. (HRMAB Inc.), she also served for several years as a board member on the National Human Resource Development Advisory Council.

Mrs Currency-Hunte holds a MSc in Human Resource Management from the University of Surrey UK, the Senior Professional designation in HR (SPHR) from the HR Certification Institute in the US as well as the Senior Certified Professional (SHRM SCP) designation with the Society of Human Resource Management, Alexandria, Virginia, US.
