A . Award for Overall Outstanding Achievement
Part I: Eligibility Criteria
In order to be eligible for this award, a candidate must attain Grade I, at General or Technical Proficiency, in at least EIGHT subjects taken at a single sitting. These subjects must include:
a) English A
b) Mathematics
c) ONE subject from EACH of the following three groups:
i) French, Spanish;
ii) Caribbean History, Geography, Religious Education, Social Studies, English B;
iii) Agricultural Science (Single Award) or Agricultural Science (Double Award), Biology, Chemistry, Human and Social Biology, Integrated Science (Single Award), Physics;
d) ONE subject from any one of the following sub-group(s):
Business Studies
Economics, Electronic Document Preparation and Management, Office Administration, Principles of Accounts, Principles of Business, Typewriting;
Technical Vocational Studies
Building Technology: Woods OR Building Technology: Construction, Clothing and Textiles, Electrical and Electronic Technology, Food and Nutrition, Home Economics: Management, Information Technology (General or Technical Proficiency), Mechanical Engineering Technology, Technical Drawing;
Creative and Expressive Arts
Music, Visual Arts, Theatre Arts, Physical Education and Sport;
e) TWO additional subjects chosen from any CSEC offerings, including those listed at c) and d) above.
Part II: Ranking Criteria (Overall)
For the purpose of ranking, Agricultural Science (Double Award) will be ranked as a single subject which carries the same weight as all other CSEC offering.
Ranking will be first on Ranking Criterion i) listed below. If a tie-breaker is required, then Ranking Criterion ii) will be considered. As necessary, subsequent criteria will be considered in order to resolve such ties as may arise.
The outstanding candidate will be selected from the eligible candidates who will be ranked in order of
i) Excellence: The total number of Grade Is attained;
ii) Profile Performance I: The profile performance in subjects considered at Ranking Criterion i) above;
iii) General Capacity I-II: The total number of Grades I-II attained;
iv) Profile Performance I-II: The profile performance on the subjects considered at Ranking Criterion iii) above;
v) Total T-score I-II: The total of T-scores for subjects considered at Ranking Criterion iv) above.

B.Award for Outstanding Performance in Humanities
Part I: Eligibility Criteria
In order to be eligible for this award, a candidate must attain Grade I, at General or Technical Proficiency, in at least SEVEN subjects taken at a single sitting. These subjects must include:
a) English A
b) Mathematics
c) THREE subjects from the following Group 1 subjects:
Group 1
- Caribbean History
- English B
- Geography
- Religious Education
- Social Studies
- French
- Spanish
d) At least two additional subjects must be chosen from any CSEC offerings. In ranking candidates, priority will be given to those candidates who select these subjects from the remaining subjects in Group 1, followed by those who select these subjects from subjects in Group 2 and finally those who select from any other CSEC offerings.
Group 2
* For the purpose of ranking, Agricultural Science (Double Award) will be ranked as a single subject which carries the same weight as all other CSEC offering.
Part II: Ranking Criteria (Humanities)
Ranking will be first on Ranking Criterion i) listed below. If a tie-breaker is required, then Ranking Criterion ii) will be considered. As necessary, subsequent criteria will be considered in order to resolve such tie as may arise.
The outstanding candidate will be selected from among eligible candidates ranked in order of
i) Excellence in the Group 1 subjects: The total number of Grade Is attained in the Group1 subjects taken;
ii) Cognate Profile Performance I(a): Profile performance on the subjects considered at Ranking Criterion i) above;
iii) Excellence in Group 1 & Group 2 subjects: The total number of Grade Is attained in the Group 1 and Group 2 subjects taken;
iv) Cognate Profile Performance I(b): Profile performance on the subjects considered at Ranking Criterion iii) above
v) Cognate area capacity (Group 1): The total number of Grades I-II attained in the Group 1 subjects taken;
vi) Cognate Profile Performance (Group 1) I-II: Profile performance on the subjects considered at Ranking Criterion v) above;
vii) Cognate area capacity: The total number of Grades I-II attained in the Group1 and Group 2 subjects taken;
viii) Cognate Profile Performance I-II: Profile performance on the subjects considered at Ranking Criterion vii) above;
ix) Total T-score I-II: The total of T-scores for subjects considered at Ranking Criterion viii) above.
C. Award for Outstanding Performance in Sciences
Part I: Eligibility Criteria
In order to be eligible for this award, a candidate must attain Grade I, at General or Technical Proficiency, in at least SEVEN subjects taken at a single sitting. These subjects must include:
a) English A
b) Mathematics
c) The following THREE Group 1 subjects:
Group 1
- Biology
- Chemistry
- Physics
d) TWO additional subjects must be chosen from any CSEC offerings. In ranking candidates, priority will be given first to those candidates who select these subjects from Group 2 and then to those who select from any other CSEC offerings.
Group 2
- Agricultural Science (Single Award) or Agricultural Science (Double Award*)
- Information Technology (General Proficiency)
Group 3
- Human and Social Biology OR Integrated Science

D. Award for Outstanding Performance in Business

e) TWO additional subjects must be chosen from any CSEC offerings. In ranking candidates, priority will be given first to those candidates who select these subjects from the remaining Group 2 subjects, then to those who select from any other CSEC offerings.

E. Award for Outstanding Performance in Technical Vocational
Part I: Qualifying Criteria
In order to be eligible for this award, a candidate must attain Grade I, at General or Technical Proficiency, in at least SEVEN subjects taken at a single sitting. These subjects must include:
a) English A
b) Mathematics
c) THREE subjects from any of the following Group 1, Group 2 and Group 3 subjects:
Group 1
- Electrical and Electronic Technology (Technical)
- Building Technology: Woods or Construction (Technical)
- Mechanical Engineering Technology (Technical)
Group 2
- Food and Nutrition (General)
- Clothing and Textiles (General)
- Home Economics: Management (General)
- Agricultural Science (Single Award) or Agricultural Science (Double Award)*
Group 3
- Technical Drawing (General)
- Information Technology (Technical)
d)TWO additional subjects must be chosen from any CSEC offerings. In ranking candidates, priority will be given first to those candidates who, amongst their seven subjects, select at least two from either Group 1, or Group 2, or Group 3, then to those who select three from across the three groups, and finally, to those who select from other CSEC offerings.

Part II: Ranking Criteria (Technical Vocational)

The outstanding candidate will be selected from among eligible candidates ranked in order of
i) Excellence in the cognate area: The total number of Grade Is attained in the Group 1, Group 2 and Group 3 subjects taken;
ii) Cognate Profile Performance I: Profile performance on the subjects considered at Ranking Criterion i) above;
iii) Cognate area capacity: The total number of Grades I-II attained in the Group 1, Group 2 and Group 3 subjects taken;
iv) Cognate Profile Performance I-II: Profile performance on the subjects considered at Ranking Criterion iii) above;
v) Total T-score I-II: The total of T-scores for subjects considered at Ranking Criterion iv) above.
Notwithstanding the criteria above, the Council reserves the right to use its discretion in making any of the awards.
