Unit Head Information

Mrs Lucia Lewis-Casimir joined the Caribbean Examinations Council in 2003 as the Archivist/Records Manager.

As the Records Manager, Mrs Lewis-Casimir’s responsibilities include the management of the Archives and Records Information Management Unit (ARMU), at Headquarters and Western Zone Offices.

Mrs Lewis Casimir has more than 14 years’ experience in records and information management and has held archives/records management positions in Barbados and in the Unites States of America. She holds an MA in Archives and Records Management from the University of London, UK; and a BSc Degree in Sociology from the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus, Barbados.

Mrs Lewis-Casimir is a member of the Association of Information Management Professionals (ARMA International), a member of the Society of American Archivists (SAA), and a founding member of the Barbados Association of Records and Information Managers (BARIM).

About ARMU

The Archives and Records Management Unit (ARMU) is mandated to efficiently and effectively manage and preserve official CXC records, in accordance with applicable statutory and regulatory requirements. The ARMU is located within the Secretariat services of the Office of the Registrar.

The ARMU core processes include Records and Information Management; Archives Management; Library Management and Organisational Document Management. The ARMU has a staff of five members at Headquarters office in Barbados and one member of staff is located at the Western Zone Office in Jamaica. All staff members of ARMU have received certification in Records and Information Management from the University of the West Indies.
