Delivering World Class Exams
The Syllabus and Curriculum Development Unit consistently revises its syllabuses and learning support resources to ensure accuracy and relevance and that they meet the changing needs of Caribbean learners. Additionally, the syllabus maintenance programme provides for a process of continual syllabus review to ascertain if there are any new developments in the subject area in an effort to ensure our syllabuses are globally competitive and relevant. The launch of the Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination (CAPE) New Generation syllabuses in 2014 reflects this commitment to developing products that are labour market driven and meet 21st century learning needs. Additional new CAPE syllabus for Logistics and Supply Chain Operations will be made available in 2015 and new CAPE syllabuses in Green Engineering and Animation and Game Design will be made available in 2016.

Teacher Training and Orientation Workshops
Teacher orientation workshops were held in four territories to introduce teachers across the region to new syllabuses in 2014. Ministries of Education in the territories with the largest candidate populations were asked to co-host the workshops by providing a suitable venue and refreshments for local participants. Teacher orientation workshops were held in Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Guyana and Jamaica. Workshops were conducted for the Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination (CAPE) Entrepreneurship, Performing Arts, Agricultural Science, Physical Education and Sport and Tourism.
