CXC hosted a seven-member delegation from the Dutch Caribbean on Monday 31 October and Tuesday 1 November in Barbados. The delegation consisted of two persons from the Ministry of Education and Science in the Netherlands, three persons from RCN/OCW, a consultant for RCN/OCW and Ms Angela Dekker based in Dutch St Marten.

While in Barbados the delegation visited two schools – The Lester Vaughan School and St Leonards Boys School –  to observe the Caribbean Vocational Qualifications (CVQ) in operation. They also met with the Head of the Barbados TVET Council, the Education Officer responsible for TVET in the Ministry of Education and CXC officers.

The Dutch islands in the Caribbean are in the process of introducing CVQs in their schools and the delegation was on a fact-finding mission to Barbados. They will also visit Trinidad and Tobago as part of their trip to countries that have implemented CVQ.
