A four-member delegation from the Netherlands Antilles will visit CXC on 3 and 4 March 2016. Last year the islands in the Netherlands Antilles agreed to adopt the CXC examinations system following fact-finding visits to Barbados by the Netherlands Inspectorate of Education in November 2014 and a working visit of an 11-member delegation from the Dutch Caribbean territories in January 2015.
The visit in March will introduce Rosalie Edelstein-Lopes, the new director of the school for secondary education in Sint Eustatius, and Jean Berkvens – Senior Policy Maker for the Dutch Organisation for Curriculum Development in the Netherlands to the CXC system. In addition, the delegation would witness first-hand what it means to be a school pursuing CXC’s Caribbean Certificate of Secondary Level Competence (CCSLC), Caribbean Vocational Qualification (CVQ) and Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC). This will be done through a visit to a school in Barbados that offers all three programmes.
