Mr Rock joined the staff of the Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC®) on 15 June 2018 as Senior Manager – Information Technology Services, he is based at CXC Headquarters in Barbados.
Mr Rock is responsible for managing the Information Technology Services Department and the Council’s IT systems as well as supervising the work of the department. He is also responsible for providing technical advice to the Council on IT issues and by extension to institutions and member countries.
Mr Rock has over 19 years’ experience in the IT industry, he is a Certified Virtualization Expert 4.0 and a Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP), he possesses a Masters of Science in Project Management and Evaluation and a Bachelor of Science, Upper 2nd Class Honours from the University of the West Indies Cave Hill Campus, as well as a Certificate in Business Continuity Management for Advanced Professionals from the Disaster Recovery Institute International.
Mr Rock has an extensive knowledge of databases including both Microsoft SQL and Oracle, VOIP, Records Management, SAP ERP, CRM, Business Intelligence and Enterprise Portal. He also has experience in various LAN/WAN/WiFi/WLAN, satellite and Fibre Optic communications and security protocols. He has also been a critical resource for the Government of Barbados in an ongoing Project at the national level.
