Registrar attends meetings in Trinidad and Jamaica

During the month of March, the Registrar, Mr Glenroy Cumberbatch attended meetings in Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago.

During the week of 12 March, the Registrar gave remarks at the the launch of the Cricket West Indies and Scotia Kiddy Cricket Academic Manual Chirpy’s Classroom Adventure. The event was held at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, Port of Spain, Trinidad. During the launch, President of Cricket West Indies, Dave Cameron called for cricket to be included in the history syllabus.

The Registrar called for the development of more cricket-related learning material for CSEC and CAPE in the form of videos, animation, books etc. to be used on Notesmaster.com, in the digital toolkits and on the soon-to-be-developed Learning Hub.

CXC has endorsed the Chirpy’s Classroom Adventure manual.

During the week of 19 March, the Registrar visited Jamaica, where he continued discussions with University of the Commonwealth Caribbean to further the collaboration between the two institutions. The discussions focussed on a draft MOU and a franchise agreement to offer the CXC-AD in selected areas. The Registrar also held discussions with the Jamaica Library Service regarding the placing CXC prepared learning material in all the libraries in Jamaica; and the use of the methodologies espoused by the CPEA and CCSLC programmes to engage all learners in organized activities at the library in special sessions.
