The Syllabus and Curriculum Development team members will be busy in May conducting orientation workshops across the region for CSEC and CAPE as well as training for CCSLC. Teacher orientation workshops start in Guyana on 7 May and run to 11 May for CAPE Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Law, and CSEC Information Technology, Music and Theatre Arts. Mrs Norlette Yearde will spearhead the workshops in Guyana.

From 14-18 May, the attention shifts to Barbados and Jamaica. In Barbados, Syllabus Officer Alsian Brown-Perry will conduct CAPE and CSEC orientation workshops, while the workshops in Jamaica will be conducted by Norlette Yearde, Linda Stewart-Doman and Claudia Jack. Teachers from St Lucia and St Vincent and the Grenadines will attend the workshops in Barbados, while teachers from Cayman Islands and Turks and Caicos Islands will attend the workshop in Jamaica. During the week of 21-25 May, Claudia Jack will conduct orientation workshops in Antigua for teachers in Antigua and Barbuda, Anguilla, British Virgin Islands, Dominica, Montserrat and St Kitts and Nevis.

Teachers in Turks and Caicos Islands will be exposed to the Caribbean Certificate of Secondary Level Competence (CCSLC) during the week of 21-25 May. That’s when Syllabus Officers Alsian Brown Perry and Norlette Yearde will conduct a training session for teachers in the territory on CCSLC.
