Senior Assistant Registrar, Examinations Development and Production

Provide leadership and direction for professional staff involved in test construction and related activities; manage the Examinations Development and Production Department; provide technical advice to the Council and its Committees on all psychometric issues relating to syllabus development, setting examination papers, marking of candidates’ scripts and the grading of candidate performance; conduct and supervise research activities; and, provide technical assistance to institutions and member countries; plan and coordinate the production, printing and delivery of the Council’s examination question papers and related materials.

What you’ll do:

  • Manage the operations of the Examinations Development and Production Department
  • Provide leadership and direction for professional staff involved in test construction and related activities
  • Provide technical advice to the Council and its Committees on all psychometric issues relating to syllabus development, setting examination papers, marking of candidates’ scripts and the grading of candidate performance.
  • Conduct and supervise research activities
  • Provide technical assistance to institutions and member countries
  • Plan and coordinate the production, printing and delivery of the Council’s examination question papers and related materials
  • Ensure that security procedures are established and adhered to
  • Any other related duties assigned from time to time by any duly authorized person

What we’re looking for:

  • A first degree preferably in Economics, Mathematics or Statistics or any other degree with a heavy concentration in quantitative methods.
  • Recognised post-graduate qualification in Testing, Measurement and Evaluation.
  • At least five (5) years’ experience in designing, constructing and analyzing tests for use in national/regional examinations and/or international experience.
  • A minimum of three (3) years’ managerial/administrative experience at a senior level.
  • Excellent organisational, managerial, planning, problem-solving and leadership skills
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills
  • The ability to work under pressure and to meet tight deadline
  • Research experience and proficiency in the use of relevant computer applications
