The University of the West Indies

Five CSEC subjects- CXC (CSEC) General Proficiency Level (Grades I & II) pre-1998;

Grades I to III (from 1998) in English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Physics;

Five (5) CSEC – CXC General Proficiency (Grades I –III) – inclusive of English Language and Mathematics.

 

University of Guyana

“For the Diploma in Accountancy, Banking and Finance, and Marketing, candidates must obtain a minimum of five (5) subjects at … General Proficiency Grades I, II or III from 1998, which should include English Language and Mathematics.”

 

University of Technology

Five CSEC passes including English Language, Mathematics and 3 other subjects.

In 1980, one year after CSEC was introduced, CXC received recognition for CSEC from the several overseas based organisations:

  • Joint Matriculation Board, UK
  • Cambridge University Examinations Syndicate
  • American Association of College Registrars and Admissions Officers (AACRAO)
