CCSLC Mandarin and Dutch coming

The Sub-Committee of School Examinations Committee (SUBSEC) met on Thursday 16 June to deliberate on a number of matters. During the meeting, two concept papers for CCSLC subjects were presented for consideration and approval; Dutch and Mandarin. Professor Sir Hilary Beckles welcomed the two new subjects and said “it is just a matter of time before we all start speaking Mandarin. Professor Eudine Barriteau, Principal of UWI Cave Hill Campus, UWI’s representative on the committee, also welcomed the development. “UWI is in the process of developing a minor in Mandarin Studies and establishing an official testing centre, so we welcome this articulation between CXC and the UWI.”

SUBSEC approved the development of the two syllabuses and also gave the approval for the revision of CSEC Principles of Accounts and Principles of Business syllabuses.
