Guyana to Host CXC® 2021 Release of Results Ceremony ahead of Release to Candidates on 15 October

BRIDGETOWN, Barbados – On Thursday 14 October 2021, the Cooperative Republic of Guyana will host the Caribbean Examinations Council’s (CXC®) annual Release of Results Ceremony for the regional June/July 2021 examinations, ahead of the online release to candidates on 15 October 2021.

The event will be held at the Arthur Chung Conference Centre in East Coast Demerara and will begin at 9:00 am (AST).

The Honourable Dr Priya Manickchand, Minister of Education, Guyana, will deliver the feature address at the event, while Dr Wayne Wesley, Registrar and CEO of CXC® and Dr Marcel Hutson, Chief Education Officer, will give remarks.

Dr Nicole Manning, Director of Operations – Examinations Services Division, CXC®, will report on the administration of this year’s examinations and share highlights of the regional performance outlook for the Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination® (CAPE®), Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate® (CSEC®), Caribbean Certificate of Secondary Level Competence® (CCSLC®), Caribbean Vocational Qualification (CVQ*) and Caribbean Primary Exit Assessment™ (CPEA™).

In addition to remarks from Ministry of Education and CXC® officials, attendees will also be treated to a cultural performance.

Education stakeholders including representatives of the Ministry of Education, principals and students are expected to attend the event.

The event will be streamed live online at cxc.org/cxctv, on Guyana’s Ministry of Education website – https://education.gov.gy, their YouTube channel and Facebook page as well via the website of the Guyana Department of Public Information – https://dpi.gov.gy and local media channels.

This year’s examinations took place between the months of June and August, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
