“STEMing the Tide”

cxc_science_conferenceOfficers from CXC’s Western Zone Office in Jamaica and CXC resource persons participated in the Caribbean Science Education and Technology Conference, which was held at the Pegasus Hotel from 10-12 April 2017 in Jamaica.

Mrs Alsian Brown-Perry, Assistant Registrar – Syllabus and Curriculum Development Division gave remarks at the opening ceremony on 10 April. Mrs Brown-Perry also presented a paper entitled “STEMing the Tide: Role, reactions and results” on 11 April.

During the three-day conference, CXC officers and resource persons also conducted workshops on several STEM subjects including: CAPE Green Engineering, CAPE Environmental Science, CAPE Physics, CAPE Biology, CAPE Chemistry, CSEC Physics, CSEC Biology, CSEC Chemistry, and CSEC Mathematics.
