During the week of 24-28 April, CXC conducted three focus group sessions in Jamaica, Guyana and Trinidad and Tobago with private educational institutions. The session in Jamaica was held on Monday 24 April at the Courthleigh Hotel; in Guyana the session was held on Wednesday 26 at the NCERD conference room, and in Trinidad and Tobago the session was held at the Learning Resource Centre in Couva.

The objectives of the focus group sessions were to stimulate discussion with private institutions on how CXC can better engage them; and to get their thoughts on the CXC Approved Private Centre concept.

The sessions provided valuable information on the issues facing private institutions and suggestions for improving the relationship between booicasinoplay CXC and the institutions.

The focus group sessions are part of phase one of the CXC Approved Private Centre initiative.
